Milani Paint Eyeshadow Palette #01 Swatches

This is a very interesting thing-a-mabob don’t you think? 7 cream shadows all gathered up into one palette. Milani states that it is a palette with high pigment color, that you can use individually or blend more than one color together to, well, you know be different and things.

Texture- Feels like a cream, applies like a powder. It’s not super creamy, leaning more towards a cream to powder. This palette is matte.

Pigmentation- Pigmentation is not that great but it really depends on your tools. If you have no primer, you are going to be disappointed. If you use a shadow brush, it comes out light, with some colors showing up better than others. If you use a brush that is designed for cream shadows, the color will pick up a little better. Using a sponge applicator will also pick up color better. If you are still in the stone age, and choose to use your finger, some colors will be hit and miss.

Ease of Use- If you are applying one color you should be fine. Blending is not a walk in the park, the colors look like they are sitting on top of one another and if you use a really good blending brush, by the time you are done blending, Keep in mind these are matte shades, so it’s only natural that they don’t blend well.

There’s enough room in this uniquely designed palette to grab any color you want with a brush, your finger, or a sponge applicator.

This was a limited edition palette that was only at CVS back in 2011, I will check for availability, but I do not think it’s sold anymore….

I actually went on Mirra’s facebook page for a sample, thinking that they were going to send one of their body products in the mail and this is what I ended up with. Brushes! I figure I cant have too many brushes right? Mirra is a premium brand distributed by Kroger, which is a grocery store that I basically live in because it’s a 2 minute drive from my home. So I gave these brushes a test drive, and this is what I think.

I think there’s absolutely nothing wrong with looking to a celebrity for beauty and style inspiration. So who’s my beauty and fashion inspiration? Jill Scott of course

This curvy girl from Philly does everything right and nothing wrong in my opinion. Her style is versatile but no matter what she’s rocking, it’s always true to her.

I can always count on Jill to have that beautiful barely there look- light natural makeup, plush long lashes, a flush of natural color to the lips and sometimes even a pop of color with a signature red. Her best beauty statement is her warm smile, which gives her that glow that we all would die to have.

I can always count on Jill to represent for the curvy and plus sized- She is always rocking something that accentuates her curves and features. She is versatile in her fashion sense going from comfortable and casual to classic and sexy effortlessly. Her weight loss was such an inspiration to me, because she showed me that you can lose weight without losing sight of what’s true to your style. It was wonderful to see her lose weight and not go overboard, remaining curvy and remaining beautiful.

Laura Mercier Camellia comes from the Summer 2012 Belle Nouveau collection. Camellia is a warm toned sheer pink. This glace would go great alone or on top of your favorite pink lipstick for high shine.

I really enjoyed the texture of the glace, definitely not as sticky as MAC lipglasses, but it holds up well under pressure. Camilla has a soft candy scent, not overpowering at all.

Zoya Beach was by far my favorite collection of the two. Soft crème shades that were still bright and made a statement. I am not into the shimmers and foils, so yeah, I loved Beach over Surf. Check my swatches of the collection, and my must haves for anyone thinking of buying a few!

So I went to the Lynch Street Festival this past weekend that featured a lot of blues, soul, and gospel music. In addition to the music was food, heat; thankfully, the festival goers were dressed to the occasion. Upon arrival the first thing I noticed was lots and lots of food! Guys with loose comfy clothes and women with maxi dresses and skirts, tank tops and big hats to protect the skin from the sun!
