Aveda released information a few weeks ago about their Fall 2013 Heart Lands collection and I have some of the collection to show you!
Heart Lands features rich jewel toned eyeshadows with a choice of red lips or nude to create a perfect fall look. Check out the swatches below:
Petal Essence Single Eye Color, $14
Antique Gold is a light honey blonde gold. When I think about antique gold I think of a brown toned gold, not this. The texture is smooth and silky with a shimmery iridescent gold finish.
Viridan was prettier in the pan to me than it was swatched. It appears to be a deep bluish teal in the plan, but swatches more like a slate blue on the skin. Texture is smooth, finish is matte. This was the hardest shade of all the eyeshadows to blend out smoothly.
Bronze Patina is a moss green with a gold finish. The texture is smooth and silky with a shimmery finish.
Hyacinth is pretty, but I’m storing it away for Spring. Hyacinth is a white based lilac color. Smooth texture, semi-matte finish.
Dusk Orchid is undeniably the prettiest shadow in this collection to me. it’s a deep grape shade. Texture is smooth, semi-matte finish.
Ginger Root is an orange toned bronze. The finish is shimmery, the texture is smooth.
All the shadows were easy to apply. The colors are long lasting (8 hours with no primer, 16+ with a primer). I experienced no creasing or fading and I had no problems blending these shadows out.
Nourish-mint smoothing lip color, $16
Redwood is a brown toned red lipstick with gold flecks and a shiny finish. Think brick red with a touch of shimmer. Redwood applied effortlessly and smooth.
Sweetplum is a pink based red. Same as Redwood, I can apply with no problem.
Petal essence eye definer, $16
Juniper is a teal blue liner. It applies smooth and has a matte finish.
Nourish-mint lip liner, $16
Plum Petals is a nice matte plum shade. There is a gloss in the collection that goes with this liner, but I don’t have it. I tried to find a lipcolor in my stash that this would mesh well with, but I failed so I decided, “I’ll color my entire lip with it and top it without a gloss” (I put it on Instagram). As a lipcolor, me likey.
Red Petals is a deep brick red liner with a matte finish. It’s pairs well with Redwood. This combination makes for a really rich lip. I’ll probably do a face of the day with it later this week.
Both liners prevent feathering, does not smudge and lasted about 9 hours on my lips.
Nourish-mint rehydrating lip glaze, $18
Honey Tree is a nude lip color with a hint of sparkle.
Overall I’m really digging the collection.
The collection will be available while supplies last in Aveda salons, spas and retail locations beginning July 2013
