Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Summer 2014: Far From The Sun

Disclosure: Press samples were provided

Julie of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer has hit it out of the ball park with her limited edition 2014 summer collection, Far from the Sun.  This collection was inspired by beach sunsets and sunrises, which is clearly reflected in the bright colors and glass fleck shimmers.

These slightly metallic holographic polishes are linear, yet finer and subtler than an in-your-face holographics found in Layla’s holographic polishes.   I’ve noted that the glass flecks seem to be more apparent in the bottle than on the nail, but they all apply well and are opaque in two buttery coats.

This one is B-R-I-G-H-T…you may need sunglasses in real-life.  Consider yourself warned.

Sail Her Don’t Sink Her (red and holographic textured glitter, two coats)

While Sail Her Don’t Sink Her is a pretty combination of sparkly red glitter and holographic glitter, I found the application cumbersome.  It is opaque in two coats, but possibly at the expense of the application.  If you prefer even coats like me, you may need to thin this one.

If you’ve been craving holographic polishes this summer, this is the collection to pick up!  The application and pigmentation are phenomenal…seriously, all of them are 2-coaters at a minimum.

Far From the Sun releases Sunday, 7/20/2014 at 3:30PM EDT!  The holographic polishes will be $12, Sail Her Don’t Sink Her will be $8.50 and the whole set is $98, which includes US domestic priority shipping.  I’d jump on them now; there’s no guarantee they will be restocked!

In case you’re not completely convinced, Julie is offering Glitter.Gloss.Garbage. readers an awesome deal!  If you use the coupon code “GLOSSYDISCOUNT”, you get 10% off anything from the Far From the Sun collection, whether you buy the whole kit and caboodle or sample a bottle or two!  This code is good from the collection debut until Sunday, 7/27/2014 11:59PM EDT!

*edit* The collection is sold out but will be re-released in August.
