Is this lipstick gorgeous or what? Dear Diary graced us from the Beth Ditto Collection. These are limited edition from the Pro Longwear collection in conjunction with the Beth Ditto Collection. Check out swatches of this lipstick PLUS Embrace Me Lip Pencil (I always mess up and call these lip liners, lol)
Dear Diary is a bright magenta pink with blue undertones. This lipstick is perfect for someone cool toned. You can compare this one to Quick Sizzle (will swatch and compare later) but Quick sizzle is a tad more pink and a lot warmer.. I also have Hollywood Nights, you could compare that one as well, but I think Hollywood nights is more of a true hot pink. The blue undertone sets Dear Diary apart from the others.
I love the satin finish on this lipstick. MAC promises up to 12 hours. I can say I got 10. You know my story, blah blah blah I drink out of a straw so no problems with drinking and I didn’t eat anything while testing this lipstick. The color does not smudge but it does transfer if you kiss someone or wipe your lips on someone. Vanilla scented.
Pigmentation is good, it’s opaque and buildable. You can get it thicker but keep in mind the heavier you go, the heavier the feel on your lips and the more lipstick that’s going to transfer, if you are trying to last 12 hours that is.
Embrace Me is a tad darker in the grand scheme of things. Another bright fuchsia but darker than Dear Diary, so make sure you blend well, you can tell that I didn’t (tee hee). The pencils from the regular line do not last as long as Pro Longwears, but you will still get your money’s worth.
