MAC Heroine was re-promoted with the Fashion Sets collection. MAC Heroine is described as a bright violet purple with a matte finish. Heroine was first released with the Reel Sexy collection and just like it, it sold out online in the blink of an eye. I had a friend CP me a tube, but I have not received it yet, so luckily I called the counter on the date of release (April 4) and had them hold it and Embrace Me. I was disappointed to discover that I could not B2M it, but oh well, I bought it anyway.
MAC Heroine is packaged in the standard black MAC tube. There’s not much to elaborate on this subject, so I will not bother boring you.
MAC Heroine is indeed a bright violet with a touch of fuchsia. I know of no dupes or lipsticks similar to this color (I’ve heard rumors that Heroine lip glass is similar to All My Purple Life, but that is not confirmed). Heroine has a matte finish to it, and if you don’t know how to care for your lips, it is going to be very drying. The formula is well pigmented and opaque. One application does the trick and it works well when paired with Heroine lip liner.
I also purchased the lip liner which is also matte and just a little lighter than Heroine lipstick because it has a bigger hint of fuchsia to it.
When used together I got eight hours of wear from the set.
I am really glad I got to get my hands on it this time. Re-promotes make me very happy because it’s like I get a second chance. It is now sold out at my counter, Macy’s, Nordstroms, and MAC online. Knowing MAC, they will restock it one more time and that’s it. So keep your eyes out and make sure you are following me on Twitter just in case it is re-stocked (plus, I always get a heads up when a collection has dropped early).
MAC Heroine retails for $15.00
