Before I get started, this is a friendly reminder that I am not reviewing to document skin care results. This is just a basic review so you can see the shades I swatched and how it works and applies as a makeup.
Back in July of last year, MAC was on point with the BB Cream trend and they released some with the Prep and Prime line. Problem was, they only released super pale shades: extra light pale, light, and light plus. Yes, those are the only shades they released. One year later, they released a slew of some new shades and included darker ones!
So from the new shade extensions I have Medium Plus and Dark
Medium Plus is described as a tan beige per MAC Cosmetics. Medium plus reads to me as a warm toned light beige. This shade will work well with light to light medium skin tones but no darker.
Dark is described as deep caramel. Dark reads to me as a warm medium caramel shade, but not intensely dark. I think it would work well on women my color, and a few shades deeper.
MAC BB Cream has a semi-matte finish to it. I find it a little bit of a chore to apply if you do not work quickly to apply it. As it starts to dry it gets hard to blend. So work quickly and go on and blend it.
MAC BB Cream provides medium coverage. After applying my skin feels smoother which makes for a really awesome canvas for applying foundation. This is also a stand alone product so if you do not want to use it as a primer, you can totally apply and go. MAC BB Cream lasts about 8 hours without the need for touchups and reapplication.
