Milani Rose Powder blushes are back for the 2nd year in a row. Most of us remember them from last year because there were multiple complaints that the pigmentation was not all that great. I learned that as well when reviewing Milani Bella Rosa. With a new collection of colors comes high hopes that these will be better. I have all four to review, so let’s check it out.
The 2014 Milani Rose blushes are packaged just the same as last year. They are not like the regular line of blushes because they do not have that extra little compartment on the bottom to store a travel sized blush brush and mirror. That’s not a big deal, but I don’t consider the rose blushes travel friendly.
The design on the blush is that all familiar beautiful rose. So gorgeous that you almost don’t even want to use them. The finish on all the blushes are matte, and the texture is powder. When dealing with pigmentation, they did well for me. It’s going to come down to what kind of blush brush you are using. A firmer blush brush will pick up more color, but will blend out too hard. As prehistoric as it may sound, I find picking the color up with my finger, rubbing on my cheek and blending out with a softer blush brush yields better results. Beware of the fallout. No matter what brush you use, there’s going to be fallout.
When looking at the swatches below, take note that I applied with my finger, and blended out with a soft blush brush for reference.
The four shades this year are Lady Rouge, Love Potion, Tea Rose and Coral Cove.
