Milani added new Shadow Eyez to their collection and this time it’s lots and lots of neutral colors. Shadow Eyez are very comparable to Urban Decay 24/7 shadow pencils because they are well pigmented, apply smooth and creamy, lasts all day long, and they take an act of God to remove! So consider them a cheaper and more accessible alternative. There are six new colors and they include:
Black Ink (07)- Black Ink is super duper black. This is great if you need a black base for an eyeshadow and promise me when I tell you, if you want to change the look of the new Maybelline cream shadows, this is the base you want. Black ink dries to a matte finish and is oh so super creamy to apply. It just glides right on.
Espresso Line (08)- Espresso Line is a mahogany brown that dries to a matte finish. It gets a tad deeper once it dries, but this swatch is not off by much. Espresso Line is very smooth and creamy.
Cafe Au Lait (09)- Café Au Lait is a beautiful light grayish brown that dries to a matte finish. Café Au Lait will be my go to when I need a sheer wash of a almost skin toned eyeshadow. Café Au Lait is very smooth and creamy when applying.
Almond Cream (10) – Almond Cream is for the girl that wants a ‘not quite white’ base. Almond Cream is a custard color without the yellow. I want to say maybe French Vanilla. It dries to a matte finish, and it’s also very smooth and easy to apply.
Sand Dunes (11)- Sand Dunes is another great color to use when you want to do a sheer wash. Sand Dunes is a blonde gold shade with a shimmery finish. This one applied easily, but very thin. It was not as opaque as the other colors but it sure does serve up some sparkle!
Golden Bronze (12)- Golden Bronze is a gold color with bronze tones. Golden Bronze applies smoothly, but creased almost instantly. I suggest putting a primer underneath. Golden Bronze has a shimmery finish.
None of the colors smudge once they are dry.
I decided to swatch all of these on my eyes this time so you can get a good look at how they match up against brown eyes. I like Cafe Au Lait, Sand Dunes, and Golden Bronze as standalone shadows, for days when you want just a single wash of color. I like Espresso Line, Black Ink and Almond Cream as bases. Black Ink and Maybelline Cool Crush are amazing together.
