New to the NARS family is a collection of matte multiples. If you are not about that multiple life, you are living life wrong. NARS Multiples are handy for applying to the lips, cheeks, or eyes. One of the new multiples is NARS Siam.
NARS Siam is described by the brand as a hot poppy red. That description is 100% true. It’s bright red with a hint of coral, vivid, bold, and fun. The texture is of course very creamy and the finish is a satin like matte. On the cheeks I had no problem wearing Siam for 8 hours. On the lips, granted you are not eating or drinking sans straw, I had no problem wearing it for 3 hours. It lasts a little longer of course if you are wearing Siam as a stain so to speak, about 6 hours.
But with this bold shade comes a bold warning…..
First of all, a little goes a long way. This multiple can lead you into the den of the clowns if you are not very careful applying it as a blush. This same statement applies to applying it as a lip. You can go very bold, yet subtle, or you can just go BOLD.
Second, you shall experience staining, on the cheeks and lips, but for every ‘problem’, the Fairy Glammother has a solution. When the day is over and it’s time to remove Siam, oil and exfoliation will be your best friends.
- To remove from the cheeks, massage a cleansing oil into your face and follow-up by exfoliating. This should get rid of 99% of the stain.
- To remove from the lips, make a small bit of lip exfoliator by mixing 2 teaspoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of olive oil and massage it in, or lightly scrub with a toothbrush.
NARS Siam retails for $39. This is a black girl friendly shade and before you turn your nose up at the price, two things:
1. A little goes a long way
2. There’s a lot of product in that tube. You will have it for a very long time.
