Who needs Deborah Lippmann’s Happy Birthday when there are so many other more affordable and accessible options. So from my stash to your computer screen, 5 Multi-Colored Lacquers to throw on your nails and have a party!

1. Milani Jewel FX lacquer ($4.99)- You need about two coats for a nice opaque color

Wet n Wild Party of five glitters ($1.99)- Fastest drying of the entire bunch however, you have to use multiple coats, like 5 to get a good coat.

OPI Rainbow Connection ($8.50)- Again, another shade that takes 3 coats tops!

Ulta Pinata Yada Yada ($6.50)- By far the worst of them all. I wouldn’t suggest this one unless you are using simply for a top coat. It is not a stand alone polish by no means.

Nicole By OPI Rainbow in the S-Kylie ($6.50)- This is the prettiest of them all to me and the best cause you can literally use one coat and walk away with a nice opaque coat.

The one thing that I love love love about the holiday collections when I deal with OPI and Nicole By OPI is that there will not be a shortage of glittery and shimmery goodness. Here is the first of 3 reviews for the holidays with OPI.

Nicole by OPI Holiday features four polishes that pack a glittery punch, well with exception to one. But wait, there’s more! With exception to one polish, these did not take 800 coats to get a good opaque glitter! WOOOHOO!!!

So I decided to take my 3 new polishes from Finger Paints and throw a little Nicole By OPI Texture coat on top and this is what I came up with! This is a short post I know but hey the photos speak for themselves!

Before, 3 very awesome Finger paints from top to bottom- Art you kidding me?, Laughing my art off and Hue left me a message?

And After with again from top to bottom- Turquoise Texture, Silver Texture, and White Texture

I was not a big fan of the white, I never have been. Everyone on Twitter loved the pink and blue, my personal fave was the blue glitter and the silver texture. And for reference, these are very similar to their big sister’s OPI shatters.

On thing with this collection and hopefully someone can answer- Why were the brushes different? Only one bottle, the turquoise had a perfect stroke brush and the rest didn’t. Weird huh?

Bandwagon Trends: Are We Tired Of Them?

I remember back about 3 years ago there were very few brands that made eyeliners in the pot like MAC Fluidlines. Because counter service is so poor here at the MAC counter, I used to wish for another brand that was more easily accessible in person. Then L’Oreal HIP came out with a cream liner, then Wet n Wild, then Jane Cosmetics, then Maybelline, now today, you have over 20 brands that sell and produce a gel or cream liner in the pot.

This wide variety leaves you the consumer lost in the woods, trying to find the right liner for you. Going from forum to forum, blog to blog, trying to find out which one is best, lasts longer, all that good stuff. It’s confusing, it’s a headache, and some will say, too many brands are jumping on the bandwagon, producing trending products. But should everyone jump in?

What made me even ask this? It’s simple. The crackle trend officially, like 15 minutes ago, made me dizzy. OPI started first with the crackle, with China Glaze not too far behind with not only one shade, but 6. Just when I thought there were no more to come, then OPI makes 5 more shades, a red, three hues of blue and a white. Then on top of that, silver shatter! Not to be outdone, China Glaze makes a full metallic collection. Then the baby sister of OPI comes out with a collection called Texture Coat, in 6 shades, which includes a golden texture shade. I was in an Asian beauty supply store and Kleancolor sells a crackle, simply known as crack, which made me giggle because that’s what the availability of these kind of products has become (And I bought a bottle, I am ashamed). Then OPI’s big more mature sister Sephora by OPI, now has ‘blasted’, which still looks like crackle and last but not least, Pure Ice has a shatter line. I am officially exhausted and I can’t use the first bottle enough before another bottle comes out.

So what do you say? What do you do when multiple companies produce the same product? Do you stick to one particular brand, or do you try them all?
