I will admit, it’s been a very long time since a beauty product made me do a double take. So I was opening up the Cocotique August Box and I found the most unique product ever. Toe Concealer.
Yes you read that correctly. Toe Concealer. Concealer for your toes. Have we made it to the point that the cosmetic industry NEEDS concealer just for feet?
Surprisingly, this is not some new concept. The Cut discussed this genre of products back in 2008. T!ntalize seems to be the first brand to launch such a product and they have some before and after pictures you can check out on their site. Pretty Toes is the brand included in the Cocotique box, and they have been around since 2011 and follow that same basic concept. Concealing feet.
What do you have to hide?
Apparently these products cover age spots, corns, discolorations, tattoos, uneven skin tone, tan lines, veins and vitilago. They are supposed to be waterproof, smudge proof, sweat proof and long lasting. From a personal standpoint, I am ok with my green veins and freckles. No biggie.
You know, just reading reviews around the web, it’s not so smudge proof after all. The few that existed that I checked out stated it does smudge and rub off, so that’s a fail. Besides, some of the pictures I ran across- the concealer sits on top of the skin. It’s weird and gross looking. But for sure not pretty. I don’t have faith in T!ntalize’s before and after photos because the images are so tiny in size.
One part of me thinks it is cool. There are so many women that have flaws that they want to cover, they want to feel flawless and pretty all over. I admire that part of the toe concealer concept.
The other part of me, the blogger part of me thinks about the multiple alternatives available. Do I think the market needed toe concealer with so many body foundations on the market? No. The formula in toe concealer is not unique in contrast to regular concealer.
What do you think?
Do you think this is a necessary product? Would you add this to your beauty arsenal?
